When you purchase fabric, take note of the care instructions printed on the end of the fabric bolt; (printed care labels used to be available at the cutting tables). Before laying out the pattern pieces, you need to preshrink the fabric and straighten the grain. These two simple steps ensure easy-care garments with straight hanging seams and hems.
