March is National Craft Month and the Jo-Ann Crafts Ad Coupons

I am only aware of March as National Craft Month only because I got my latest Jo-Ann flier in the mail. I always look through these with amazement and thinking of all the things I could do if I just had this and had that. Then I get to the end of the pages... and sigh... because I know that I already have way too much supplies and to justify another trip with the babies in tow. I do want and have so many things as it is and no time to even do and use what I already have. I have repeated this same exact scenario a dozen times before. The only difference now is that I don't go to the store and come out with a bunch of stuff for projects I want to do but will never get around to doing it.

About the ad... lots of new things.... Spring prints, etc. I'm loving the shopping cart cover featured on page 4 (Simplicity 4225). It is made of fleece and so I am assuming that there is less sewing involved as fleece just does not fray or require as much stitching as cotton blends do.

The lamps are all 40% off with the lowest price one featured at $29.99. I would love to recommend a lamp I found at Costco for under $20. It is black and tabletop size. It is magnificent, looks great, and it a life saver to the eyes. I can only do crafting late nights when I am done with everything and kids asleep and with this lamp, it is like sunshine right over my table. I can't find it anywhere onine. The closest thing is this one but what I got was much nicer:

Coupons. I have always wondered why there are so many coupons on one page when in fine print it says that they cannot be combined with any other coupons. I asked about that and it turns out that I can use several coupons in one sale transaction. If you have 5 items, you can use 5 coupons as long as they are not expired and given that they correlate with the items being purchased at that time. You can use "40% off regular-priced notions item" and "40% off regular-priced item" in one sales transaction if you have those two things there. But can one use more than one "40% off any one regular-priced item"? Yes and No. Yes, but only if the bar code numbers are different from each other on the two coupons. Yes, even if the coupon have the same offers, you can use it in one sales transaction as long as the bar code numbers are different. So I asked, "You don't need me to come back 10 times or do 9 separate transactions just so I can use my coupons?" And she confirmed, "Just make sure the bar codes differ." Got it!

I am on a sewing brake because...

1) i have too much on my plate. even allowing my domain name expire as I am not able to put all my attention to it at the moment.

2) i need to put my efforts on my Thirty-One Gifts venture. What is it? Check it out here:

3) blogging in regards to Thirty-One takes time too.

4) planning birthday parties for my kids is a lot of work

5) attending baby showers and birthday parties of friends' kids keeps me from the computer.

6) learning how to make, post, and edit videos on YouTube before I turn 30 in less than a month is a big project for a dinosaur like me.

Hope to sew with you all sew soon!
